Enterprises are increasingly moving towards the cloud model and HP is all set to enter the market with its ‘HP Private Cloud Solutions for Oracle Applications’. This came in a recent press release from HP announcing that they have built a set of integrated private cloud solutions optimized specifically to reduce the time and effort in deploying Oracle applications like PeopleSoft in the cloud.
The solution is a combination of hardware based on HP’s BladeSystem Matrix and software including Cloud Service Automation software and StorageWorks data services. The offering also will include Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise, E-Business Suite and Fusion Infrastructure, enabling one-touch provisioning and a self-service portal for delivering Oracle application services on-demand.
Also included are ‘HP Cloud Maps’ – a toolset including design templates, workflows and white papers – to help channel partners or end users bring their cloud environments online quickly by enabling them to rapidly populate data and build a catalog of application services. Additionally, integrated management of the server, storage and networking infrastructure helps reduce maintenance costs and provides automated deployment, monitoring and compliance of Oracle applications. This can greatly aid to a faster deployment of technologies.
HP expects the HP Private Cloud Solution for PeopleSoft to be available in October and priced at around $700,000. The E-Business Suite and Fusion Infrastructure versions to be available by the end of the year, and pricing for those have not been released.
