Peoplesoft Demo Database

We always keep a vanilla version of PeopleSoft for reference purposes. Such a vanilla version is usually called as a demo instance. The database linked to the demo instance is called PeopleSoft Demo Database.

Maintaining such a demo instance comes in handy in the following situations.

  • When you see that something is not working in your Production system and you want to make sure that this is not happening because of your customizations. In this case we try to recreate the transaction in the demo instance and check if it is working there.
  • Before an upgrade, to find the customizations. Here, we use the demo instance to generate a compare report against the copy of productions. Such a compare report would bring out what are the customizations that we have done.
